Arrival date
Departure date
The Imperial Castle is the last and the youngest imperial residence in Europe, built in the early 20th century for Emperor William II.
After World War 1 the Faculty of Mathematics of the Adam Mickiewicz University, whose graduates cracked the code of the German Enigma machine in the 1930s, was located in the Castle. During World War 2 the castle was entirely rebuilt and converted into Adolf Hitler’s official headquarters. Currently, it is an arts centre, with a range of exhibitions, a cinema, and an animation theatre for children.
