This is a centre of trade, art, and business in the former brewery of the Hugger family.
The centre of trade, art, and business, based on the 19th-century brewery, was awarded with multiple prizes, including the prize for the best shopping centre in the world (2006). Unique architecture combined with the industrial past of the place, a multitude of corners hiding the remnants of the time when beer was brewed there: ceramic crown caps, elements of the equipment, health and safety plates…
The space is filled with modern art, exhibition areas, and theatre halls and it is also an important centre of modern dance. Even though the place has its own history, it is more than just a historical building – it is a vibrant space, in which people do shopping, visit exhibitions, meet for social and business purposes, take a rest, and sightsee. Stary Browar is one out of 20 buildings that were awarded the Icon of Architecture title after 1989, and constitutes the essence of the urban spirit. In 2011 the centre was granted the Certificate of the Polish Tourist Organisation for the Best Tourist Product.
